I could take his place and not let you pass me like at the Nurbergring oh so many years ago. Would the end be the same? The above post tells me you haven't grown up a bit.

Session: Q2
Name of the accused driver as indicated in the unofficial results: Ronnie Farias

Start time of the incident as indicated by the official replay time or position: 10:10

End time as indicated by the official replay time or position:10:30

Brief description of the complaint: On in lap said driver blocked and moved over on me causing contact. Not sure what he was trying to prove and why you would try to impede a driver when you're going slow on in lap. probably trying to pay back for his buddy being silly. not the 1st time this team has crashed me in Q. happened in Germany too.

Normally, I go out as soon as the session changes to have a clear track, but I was at the other end of the pit lane and I thought I would let others go and be near the end of cars leaving and then have a clear track. But apparently a few other cars didn't go early and there were at least two cars leaving the pit lane right behind me.

On my out lap, I was saving fuel and warming up my brakes and tires and creating a gap to the car ahead. I was expecting others to do the same and we could all have a clear track to get our best lap(s) in.

Reviewing the replay, I see that Janos was the second car behind me and he did exactly that and slowed down to create a gap to the cars ahead so he'd have a clear track for his run. He didn't try to pass the cars ahead of him.

So while driving my out lap, the driver behind stayed close and I still expected him to slow and create a gap. I finally realized that he wasn't going to do that when he tried to pass me going into 130R. Not a very good corner to try to pass into. In a race I would have likely just let him go if he was that much faster and caught me. But since there was only one more corner before I would be starting my hot lap, I realized my hot lap could be compromised with another driver directly ahead at the start of the lap.

In the accident that occurred, I lost my rear wing and had to abandon qualifying with no times set. The other driver was able to continue.

I just don't understand the need to pass on an out lap. With 12 minutes for Q1 and this race with only 12 cars, there should be plenty of time for everyone to find space and get their runs in.

Well you shouldn't assume others are going slow to save fuel. From my pov you moved over and blocked me a few times, you could of easily let me by and even squeezed me off making contact on the back straight and then raced me to 130r. I could of got by before spoon and you'd have 1/2 a track to get a gap. The car in front was long gone.
