OLD:
All races are ran with dry weather. The two weather factors that change from location to location (and from Qualifying to Race) are the temperature and cloud coverage. These factors are configured on the server two times prior to a race. The first time is on Sunday before the race using the weather forecast from The Weather Channel. The final time is Tuesday prior to the race, again using the weather forecast from The Weather Channel. Both temperature and cloud coverage are published in the event description page.
NEW:
All races are ran with dry weather. The two weather factors that change from location to location are the temperature and cloud coverage. Since rFactor 2's track surface temperature is always equal to the air temperature, we must use the following method to configure the weather on the server in an effort to improve realism:
1) On Tuesday, obtain the temperature and cloud coverage from the The Weather Channel's forecast at the time that the race will be held.
2) Depending on what the forecast cloud coverage is, use the following scale if cloud coverage is:
Sunny = add 20 degrees Celsius to forecast temperature.
Light Clouds = add 15 degrees Celsius to forecast temperature.
Mostly Cloudy = add 10 degrees Celsius to forecast temperature.
Overcast = add 5 degrees Celsius to forecast temperature.
3) Publish on the event details page both forecast temperature and cloud coverage from The Weather Channel as well as the configured temperature and cloud coverage for the server.
CHANGE:
The weather is being configured only once prior to a race instead of two times. All three sessions now have the same kind of weather (no difference between Qualifying and Race). To avoid racing with very cold track surfaces, like we've been having lately, we will be adding temperature depending on the cloud coverage for the track. After investigating how air vs track temperature changes in real life, we found that in most cases, there was a difference of 20C on sunny days, while overcast days had track temperatures close to air temperature.

OLD:
The server will be password protected on race day. Each driver must request the password before 09:00PM Eastern USA time the day of the race. The password will be given only to those drivers that have met both 4.6 and 4.7 requirements. To request the password, simply email f1.league.management@simracinghub.com with your password request. Each event has a unique password and should not be shared among drivers. Sharing the password with a driver that did not meet requirements 4.6 and 4.7 will be taken negatively by the league's management and will be further investigated. Sanctions may apply to those that share the event password.
NEW:
The server will be password protected on race day. The password will be given through Slack only to those drivers who have met both 4.6 and 4.7 requirements as well as have registered for the race in the event description page. Each event has a unique password and should not be shared among drivers. Sharing the password with a driver that did not meet requirements 4.6 and 4.7 will be taken negatively by the league's management and will be further investigated. Sanctions may apply to those that share the event password.
CHANGE:
Instead of mailing the password, we will now provide it privately through Slack.
