Argenis Riera is now on the verge of becoming the 2016 Drivers Champion with a win in Austin last Thursday. The Mercedes driver had all the luck he could get when both championship contenders, Otto Acosta and Ezequiel Montero, retired from the race after suffering unrelated accidents. This result puts Riera on pole position to clinch the championship in Mexico. Meanwhile, Richard Walcott had another good race finishing in second place. The last step on the podium was grabbed by Roberto Bianco who finally gets a result after struggling the entire season with his Force India.
