Just start showing up in our server and putting in some laps. Then join us for our Official Practice on Tuesday prior to the race to see how well you do ;)

Do you have any experience racing online?

Awesome! I was dabbling in the Gilles SRH server last week but I’ll make sure to join in when official practice is going on.

I’m new to rfactor but I have a decent amount of experience on iRacing. I’m making the switch to RF2 for the F1 races.

Don't forget that the track is probably green until it gets a lot of laps on it.

They are the same tires as Canada. If you look at the mod version when you are selecting the car it should say 1.1.0 which is the version with the new tires.

Wear varies from track to track, the tarmac has different abrasion levels, the turns are also different. In Canada we barely had any high speed turns whereas this track is full of them, that's why you are consuming a lot more rubber.

Quali:

Made it to Q2. The on my first outing in Q2 I got distracted by the server PC that I have next to me when the Windows restart notification showed up. I had to abort my lap and go back to the pits. Then I postponed the server restart just in time, yes, we were close to getting all disconnected in Q2 lol. I went out again with about 4 minutes to go and did the best I could for P6. I was actually close to row 2 but screwed it up on sector 3 where I lost about 3 tenths.

Race:

I was once again way too cautious on lap 1 and it cost me about 3 or 4 positions. I was then chasing Haynie for a while until the first round of pit stops. I started on the softs and stopped on lap 14 for meds. Came out in 11 or so and then my fight with Higgins started unfolding. From then on we were neck and neck the entire race, he passed me, I passed him, he passed me again, it was cool clean racing. Toward the end of the race I got by Walcott after his late pit stop and Fisher who seemed to have really bad hard tires. Then Sean made a small mistake at turn 5 and it allowed me to get close for the DRS. I passed him and had to switch to 3/3 for the last few laps. Luckily I had fuel left to do that and keep him at bay. I also stopped looking at the tire wear cuz I know I had to finish on that set of mediums. I ended up with 25% FL.

A decent result for me, I'm still a bit far from Otto and a lot more from the Ferraris and Ezequiel. But the racing is fun in my group so I'll take it haha.

Congrats to Ivan for his win.

See you guys in Austria next week!
